The U.S. Coast Guard is scheduled Monday to begin the retrieval of a duck boat that sank while carrying tourists on a southern Missouri lake during powerful winds, killing 17 people.
Divers are expected to swim down to the Ride the Ducks boat and connect it to a crane, which will lift it to the surface. Retrieval efforts are expected to start around 9 a.m.

The New York tabloid Daily News will cut half of its newsroom staff and Jim Rich, its editor in chief, was released.
The paper was sold to tronc Inc. last year for $1, with the owner of the Chicago Tribune assuming liabilities and debt.
In an email sent to staff Monday, tronc said staff at the Daily News will focus on breaking news involving “crime, civil justice and public responsibility.”

Trump, who campaigned on a promise to bring a more hawkish approach to Iran, sent an all-caps tweet late Sunday warning of dire consequences for the longtime foe. “NEVER EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKE OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE,” he wrote.

The surveillance system that has kept watch on students entering Lockport schools for over a decade is getting a novel upgrade. Facial recognition technology soon will check each face against a database of expelled students, sex offenders and other possible troublemakers.
It could be the start of a trend as more schools fearful of shootings consider adopting the technology, which has been gaining ground on city streets and in some businesses and government agencies. Just last week, Seattle-based digital software company RealNetworks began offering a free version of its facial recognition system to schools nationwide.

A man’s feud with his grandmother turned into a bizarre and deadly weekend confrontation that ended with a supermarket worker dead and dozens of people held hostage in a store miles away.
Gene Evin Atkins, 28, was booked Sunday on suspicion of murder after an explosion of violence that a relative said may have been brewing for weeks.
Melyda Corado, 27, was shot to death Saturday at a Trader Joe’s market in the Silver Lake neighborhood after a gunfight that shattered the store’s glass doors, witnesses said.

MRKH syndrome is the common name for Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome. MRKH syndrome is a condition where young women are born either without a vagina and uterus or with an underdeveloped vagina and uterus. It is the most common type of vaginal agenesis. Agenesis is Latin for "not developed." Therefore vaginal agenesis means the vagina is not developed.
MRKH affects between one in 4000 and one in 10,000 female births. MRKH syndrome was first described in 1829. However, historical evidence of the condition dates back to 460 B.C.

It's similar to what is happening on "Younger," a TV Land dramedy that stars Sutton Foster as Liza, a 40-something woman posing as a 20-something book editor.
