Oil prices jumped 2% Friday after Iran reported that missiles struck one of its tankers in the Red Sea.

Iranian state media said two missiles on Friday morning struck one of the country's tankers between 5 a.m. and 5:20 a.m. local time. The ship was about 60 miles from the Saudi port city of Jeddah.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Friday the dates and locations of the debates for the 2020 presidential election.

The first debate for the 2020 general election will be held on Sept. 29, 2020, at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. That will be followed by a debate on Oct. 15 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and the third and final debate on Oct. 22 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Back in 2014, my partner and I marked a date in our shared online calendar. Unusually, this was for 27 August 2015 – a year ahead. It was an arbitrary date.

We’re indecisive when it comes to big life decisions, and this was the biggest: whether to have children. We were aware that, now in our 30s, we couldn’t wait indefinitely to decide. So we marked “baby-making conversation” in the calendar, as ever using irreverence in an attempt to make weighty matters seem less daunting, and happily pushed the question away for the time being.

Artificial stone used to make kitchen and bathroom countertops has been linked to cases of death and irreversible lung injury in workers who cut, grind and polish this increasingly popular material.

The fear is that thousands of workers in the United States who create countertops out of what's known as "engineered stone" may be inhaling dangerous amounts of lung-damaging silica dust, because engineered stone is mostly made of the mineral silica.
