Human efforts to breed more of these insects in artificial beehives and plant more flowers may seem the obvious way to stave off heavy losses.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday blamed Democrats for the deaths of a migrant father and toddler girl whose bodies are depicted in searing photographs that have become a symbol of the perils faced by those trying to cross illegally into the U.S.
Speaking with reporters as he left the White House for a four-day trip to Asia, Trump said he was disturbed by the photos. But he said the deaths could have been prevented and castigated Democrats for failing to pass legislation he claimed would stop people from trying to make the dangerous trek.

Two additional deputies have been fired as a result of an internal affairs investigation into the agency’s response to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that killed 17 people, the Broward County sheriff said Wednesday.
At a brief news conference, Sheriff Gregory Tony said deputies Edward Eason and Josh Stambaugh were fired Tuesday for their inaction following the Feb. 14, 2018, shooting.

The GOP-held Senate on Wednesday passed a bipartisan $4.6 billion measure to deliver aid to the southern border before the government runs out of money to care for thousands of migrant families and unaccompanied children.
The sweeping 84-8 vote came less than 24 hours after the Democratic-controlled House approved a companion measure backed by party liberals that was weighed down by a White House veto threat and bipartisan rejection by the Senate.

Democrats face off in a prime-time fight Wednesday night in the first debate of the 2020 presidential campaign, the unofficial starting line for the party’s quest to wrest the White House from Donald Trump and deny him a second term.
While the crowded field has been courting voters in key states for several months already, the vast majority of the nation has yet to pay close attention to the ambitious and diverse field. That begins to change when a collection of 10 candidates, led by fiery liberal Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, face each other on national television for two hours.

One restaurant for me that always gets it right is Roy’s Restaurant, a Hawaiian Asian fusion restaurant that started in Hawaii in 1988.
I’ve been a fan of Roy’s for many years now. I’ve even hosted big birthday celebrations at Roy’s and if I do say so myself, they’ve become events that are talked about for years. Along with the special offers and deals at Roy’s that pop up from time to time, Roy’s gift cards make for great presents. However, Roy’s gift cards no longer work in Hawaii. Given that Hawaii is the home of Roy’s and that Roy’s gift cards are still sold in Hawaii, file this under strange but true news.

Flies in hospitals may pose a greater threat than a buzzing annoyance. A study published Friday found almost 9 out of 10 flying insects collected from seven hospitals in England carried potentially harmful bacteria on or in their bodies.
Over half of the bacterial strains identified were 'superbugs,' meaning they were resistant to at least one class of antibiotic, with almost 20 percent resistant to multiples classes of antibiotics. Penicillin was the least effective antibiotic against the bacteria that was found.

Ravelry, an online knitting community with over 8 million members, has banned support of President Donald Trump and his administration.
Knitters go to Ravelry to discuss and post knitting patterns and projects. On Sunday, Ravelry announced that it will ban support for Trump in forum posts and content, but data about projects and patterns will not be deleted.
