Sri Lanka has partially lifted an overnight curfew imposed nationwide after an upsurge in anti-Muslim violence, three weeks after the deadly Easter Sunday bombings.
The curfew in the North-Western province will remain until further notice, police said.
Mosques and Muslim-owned shops have been vandalised or set on fire, and one Muslim man has been slashed to death.

Hackers were able to remotely install surveillance software on phones and other devices using a major vulnerability in messaging app WhatsApp, it has been confirmed.
WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, said the attack targeted a "select number" of users, and was orchestrated by "an advanced cyber actor".
A fix was rolled out on Friday.
The attack was developed by Israeli security firm NSO Group, according to a report in the Financial Times.

Miami has vaulted to the No. 1 spot for starting a small business in the U.S., according to Biz2Credit’s annual rankings of the Top 25 Cities for Small Business Growth released Tuesday.
More than 82,000 small businesses employ 53% of the Miami-Dade County’s workforce, revealed a study commissioned by the Florida Small Business Development Center. It also has a high percentage of microbusinesses, according to the FIU Metropolitan Center.

BMW reported earnings of $667 million, down more than 75% year over year, but earnings including a $1.6 billion charge for potential antitrust fines. (European auto makers are still dealing with the fallout from diesel-emission scandals.) BMW sales totaled $25.5 billion, 2.5% better than what the German equivalent of Wall Street expected. Still, lower earnings pushed BMW stock down 1.5% Tuesday, worse than the 0.5% drop in the German DAX Index.
Despite the lower profits, BMW (ticker: BMW.Germany) management is ramping up spending on research and development, reiterating the company’s commitment to vehicle electrification. R&D spending in the first quarter amounted to 6.2% of sales, above management’s long-term goal of 5% to 5.5%. In 2017 and 2018, BMW respectively spent 6.2% and 7.1% of sales on research and development.
