Remind yourself paying that bill off is more important than falling into debt. Another helpful tip is keeping your balances low, even if your credit limit is high. Moreover, make an effort to pay off these balances in full. If you are able to do this each month, soon you will find your credit score climbing closer and closer to that coveted 800.

Social Issues Draw Harvard Into Legal Peril

A group of fraternities, sororities and students filed lawsuits against Harvard University earlier this week regarding a policy set by the school in 2016 that placed sanctions on members of single-sex clubs.

The lawsuits, which were filed in both state and federal court, argue that the policy discriminates against their organizations by barring members from holding school leadership positions and receiving recommendations for prestigious fellowships, among other things.

Mixed Signals on the Economy

After the longest bull market since World War II, the stock market more recently has been giving up ground, suggesting this long run may finally be coming to an end.

With equity markets flashing warning signals, analysts are on high alert for weakening signs in such sectors as the housing and automobile industries, the two industries that receive the highest share of consumer spending. Indeed, there has been some softening in housing, and the recent announcement by General Motors that it would be shuttering five assembly plants in North America has raised concerns in some quarters.

The Airports of the Future Have Arrived

Air travel is growing in popularity across the world, and the global aviation system is undergoing projects big and small to keep up.

“We’re forecasting that traffic will double in the next 17 years,” said Angela Gittens, director general for Airports Council International (A.C.I. World). “Millions more people will be traveling.”

Central Illinois endured several tornadoes on Saturday, resulting in fascinating footage of the funnels spinning through the state. 

 

According to ABC News, a total of 22 tornadoes were reported to the National Weather Service, appearing across counties including Christian, Mason, Fulton, Cass, and Macoupin among others.
